GPLA partnered with DPR Construction to provide structural steel detailing, miscellaneous steel detailing and virtual model coordination for Canyon Ranch, a 248,000-square-foot health and wellness resort in Spicewood, Texas. The project consists of 13 structural steel-framed buildings, including lodging facilities, a medical center, spa, fitness center and supporting amenities.
Spanning multiple building types and steel scopes, the project required alignment between design intent, fabrication requirements and project delivery. GPLA provided detailing for structural steel and secondary steel components, including stairs, railings, embeds, fasteners and ornamental elements throughout the development.
Leveraging its HD BIM capabilities and engineering expertise, GPLA led virtual coordination efforts with DPR and the steel fabricator, integrating shop drawing deliverables directly into the model. This approach streamlined communication, improved visibility across stakeholders and supported efficient fabrication and installation planning.
The project highlights GPLA's ability to help complex developments move from design through fabrication with coordinated digital workflows, technical expertise and strong cross-team collaboration.
