Confidential Mixed-Use Parking Structure

Tampa, Florida

A design-assist approach helped address evolving project requirements and constructability considerations during preconstruction

GPLA partnered with DPR Construction to serve as the structural engineer of record for a 10-story, 320,000-square-foot mixed-use parking structure in Tampa, Florida. During preconstruction, the project faced design complexity and evolving requirements, creating the need for a coordinated and constructible solution.

Through a design-assist approach that combined engineering, detailing, shoring design and constructability planning, GPLA helped the project team evaluate structural solutions early, coordinate changing project requirements and address constructability considerations before construction began. This collaborative approach improved cost certainty, helping keep final cast-in-place concrete costs within approximately 1% of the initial estimate.

The project demonstrates GPLA's ability to reduce risk, improve constructability and support more informed project decisions through early collaboration.
